The project 28th Star (28. zvjezdica) is financed by EU through IPA Information and Communication programme 2011, and co-financed by the Government of the Republic of Croatia, Office for Cooperation with NGOs.

Location of the action: Croatia; Northwestern, Pannonian and Adriatic Croatia; Zagreb, Osijek, Split

Target group: youth from 16 to 24, secondary school pupils, students and youth with fewer opportunities, particularly from islands and regions of special state concerns, unemployed youth and representatives of youth with disabilities

Overall objective: to increase level of understanding and acceptance of EU values and standards among young people and wider public in Croatia, by raising awareness and contributing to public discussion.

Specific objective: to motivate youth participation, create interest and dissipate prejudices about the EU through designing and implementing creative and interactive methodology of education, information and promotion of benefits within EU.

Expected results:

  1. increased level of information access, understanding and personal knowledge of target group about EU topics relevant for young people and youth participation
  2. increased level of information, understanding and acceptance of EU values and standards of wider citizens’ group by interactive approach
  3. promoted possibilities, best practices and youth benefits from EU to Croatia

Activities:

1.1. “Mass discussion” of 252 youth in form of World Café
1.2. Peer to peer creative presentations of discussion results
1.3. Education about mass media impact and EU topics

2.1. Jumbo teasers and posters “Before and after” – produced by previously educated 12 young people
2.2. Upgrading and linking Web pages with schools pages
2.3. Production and implementation of Radio shows topics

3.1. Audio-visual product “28th Star”- benefits from 27 EU states
3.2. Production and dissemination of PR materials
