The project entitled Volunteer Centre Vukovar which, in partnership with local governments – city of Vukovar and Municipality Tompojevci and regional self-government – Vukovar-Srijem County, Association for Youth – Youth Peace Group Danube from Vukovar and associate organization (Volunteer Center Osijek), institution (Croatian employment service, PU Vukovar) and educational institutions (4 high schools from the city of Vukovar) implements PRONI Centre, aims to contribute to the systematic development of volunteering through the active participation of the local Volunteer Centre Vukovar in Vukovar-Srijem county.
In the period of one year, from 01.08.2016. to 31.07.2017., through further systematic action of the local volunteer center and focus on general population of citizens, young people, volunteers, associations and institutions, especially educational (organizers of volunteers) as direct target group, project team (representatives of partner and associate organizations) will implement six group of activities focusing on achieving the following specific objectives in the city of Vukovar and Vukovar-Srijem County:
a) through promotional and informational activities, presentations, promoting of good practice and Certificates of competences acquired through volunteering and the annual volunteer awards in the city of Vukovar: to raise awareness of citizens, especially young people and stakeholders from the area of Vukovar and Vukovar-Srijem County and to raise the importance and value of volunteering, benefits of volunteering and opportunities provided to volunteers; to motivate citizens, especially young people to actively participate in society through volunteering and increase the number of volunteers in the city of Vukovar and Vukovar-Srijem County; to motivate associations and institutions (potential organizers of volunteers) to start the voluntary programs and increase the number of organizers of volunteers in the city of Vukovar and Vukovar-Srijem County and promote the significance and importance of Certificates of competences acquired through volunteering among stakeholders in the local community in order to improve the practice of evaluation and recognition of competences acquired through volunteering, in order to raise the level of employment, particularly of young people
b) through the implementation of educational activities – “Being a volunteer”, “Introduction to the Management of volunteers” and ” Validation of volunteers”: to improve the quality of volunteering and volunteer programs with organizers of volunteers through the training of volunteers, organizers of volunteering and volunteer coordinator in the field of voluntarism, volunteer management and validation of volunteers for the purpose of issuing Certificates of competences acquired through volunteering
c) through the implementation of workshops of self-presentation of volunteers: to raise the quality level of self-presentation of volunteers to facilitate inclusion in the long-term volunteer programs and easier access to the labor market
d) the organization and implementation of voluntary actions: to encourage the involvement of citizens, especially young people and high school students, to participate in the implementation of volunteer programs and activities in local communities; to encourage volunteer organizations in the Vukovar-Srijem County to organize voluntary activities for the benefit of the local community
e) through development of school volunteering: to develop school volunteering among secondary school students in the city of Vukovar
f) through regular exchange of information between organizers of volunteers and volunteers it self through existing and developed database and its regular update of entries: to ensure continued exchange of information between volunteers and organizers of volunteers in the city of Vukovar
