It is our great pleasure to inform You that as a part of project for Development of volunteerism in Slavonija and Baranja, supported by AED, with the founds of USAID, PRONI Center for Social Education Osijek, on 1st of May officially started INFO-SERVICE FOR YOUTH. Project is conducted in partnership with Center for Peace, Nonviolence and Human rights Osijek, the carrier of the project, and ecological club Green Osijek, in timeframe from 1st of April 2006, till 30th of June 2006.

Main goal of this project is to increase citizen’s involvement in finding solutions for problems to community related problems; trough organized volunteer work in the territories of Slavonija and Baranja.

The objectives of this project are:

  • To increase public awareness of volunteerism trough education and promotion
  • To build capacity for effective local volunteering trough management consulting on volunteer programs and training of volunteers
  • To create opportunities for organized youth and environmental volunteering
  • To connect people with opportunities to serve trough recruitment and referral of volunteers to community organizations and institutions
  • To provide leadership and advocacy on issues relating to volunteerism and volunteer programs
  • To contribute to the development of a sustainable volunteer resource infrastructure

06. 005PRONI Center believes that partnership and cooperation contribute to quality and increase possibilities for conducting bigger and more significant activities in community; this project is seen as a contribution for making base, as for development of volunteerism in our region, as in whole Croatia area. Due the fact that we are community work with special accent on youth and young people are very connected to volunteerism, we felt that it is logical to make a network with other NGO that have same goals. That is why INFO-SERVCE FOR YOUTH is in premises of Volunteer Center Osijek, founded on 05th of December 2005, addressed at Vijenac Ivana Mažurani?a 3. We have decided for this model of work to achieve efficiency in achieving common goals.

 

Info-service will start it’s work in this areas:

  • Promotion of volunteerism
  • Information about volunteering opportunities
  • Volunteer exchange
  • Education of volunteers and NGO’s that are accepting volunteers

We also are keeping high hopes that during the work we’ll get open opportunities for international exchange programs, as for some other activities. On the other hand Info-service will no do only volunteerism connected stuff, young people can contact us no matter what is area of their interest and we will try to make some arrangements or to help in finding answers to their questions.

IMG_1092Therefore we call all interest youth for giving part of their free time for self and others, to fulfill some of their needs and desire, and for common good to community they are living in, to visit us, or call us, or send us an email. Also, we call all youth based NGO’s, but also and all others, who have a desire and need to involve volunteers in their work, or to get some other information, to contact us.

As every start, this also demands time and patience and specially help and support.
