Within the project “EU minds“, financed by IPA INFO 2009, on 25th and 27th May Petrinja and Novska debates were held with final classes from Petrinja secondary school and Novska secondary school.
The debates were organized by the Sisak-Moslavina County and PRONI Center for Social Education, and on each debate 30 pupils participated. The aim of the debates was to raise the level of understanding and acceptance of European values and standards among students and promote the development of their personal skills.
Topics for discussion were determined after an opinion survey of young people in secondary schools in the county, and during the debates the students argued their positions regarding the issues like: will joining the EU affect the employment opportunities, agriculture and industry, educational opportunities, improved living standards and reduction in corruption.
