Project Description
Project “My inclusive community!” is part of the first year of implementation of the Quality Label program owned by the PRONI Center for the period (2021-2027.)
The project is implementing in city of Vukovar for a period of 18 months, from 1.1.2022. to 30.06.2023.
The aim of the project is to support the development of inclusive volunteering, which in the area of the local community is lacking and in development, compared to other types of volunteering.
In this process, we want to actively involve children and young people with disabilities, their families and interested citizens and encourage care for the whole society and social inclusion, which will contribute to raising the level of socialization and quality of life of vulnerable groups, such us children and young people with disabilities.
In order to achieve these goals, PRONI Center in cooperation with the Primary School Josip Matoš Vukovar will work on building and empowering children and youth with disabilities and fewer opportunities – pupils of the Primary School Josip Matoš Vukovar. Our main motive is to cultivate empathy and building an inclusive community with the help of the pupils themselves, their families and interested citizens.
The activities will be implemented over a period of one year, starting on February 7, 2022 in which active roll will have two international volunteers:
1) Preparing and leading different workshops and activities for young people – pupils of the school with fewer opportunities and health difficulties. In order to support those young people and offer them different learning opportunities, as well as joyful and relax time, we are planning to offer them different workshops and activities in the field of art, culture, music, dance, sport, language, etc.
2) Assisting and following young people in organized rehabilitation programs outside of the school – swimming, therapeutic riding, sport activities…
3) Organizing adjusted voluntary activities in the school and local community that young people with fewer opportunities and health difficulties may participate.
4) Developing and participating in promotional activities that will promote importance and value of inclusion, as well as Program of European Solidarity Corps among youth.
Through the joint action of international and local volunteers to develop inclusive volunteering, it will contribute to the promotion of the European Solidarity Corps, as well as to raising the level of motivation of young people to participate in solidarity programs through the mentioned Program.
