The project is financed by AED (Academy for Educational Development) with funding from the USAID (U. S. Agency for International Development), and will be implemented in Vukovar-sirmium county. In the period of 8 months, starting on February the 1st 2006, the proposed project activities will mainly be focused on informing and promoting visibility of NGOs and importance of its roles and tasks in local comunity.
The beneficiaries of the project activities will be citizens and institutions in Vukovar-sirmium county.

  • to make the work of NGOs more visible in the local community and to promote the importance of its roles and tasks in the wider community by raising awareness among citizens, institutions and other sectors in society.

Objectives:

  • to introduce wider community, primarily citizens and institutions, to roles and tasks of NGOs in local community,
  • to increase visibility of NGOs through actions based on jointly created strategy for improving NGO visibility,
  • to increase media sensibility to follow and report on/promote NGO activities,
  • to work on public transparency of work of NGOs in order to reach wider recognition in the community.

Some of the proposed activities are:

  • surveys among citizens, workshops for NGO representatives, radio shows in Vukovar, Vinkovci, Ilok and Zupanja, printing of promo and info materials, info-desks, promo-campaigns, etc. The final activity will be a NGO fair in Vukovar.

Expected results are:sajam

  • Citizens and institutions informed about NGO sector activities in Vukovar-sirmium county,
  • NGO sector potentials recognized by citizens and institutions,
  • increased level of media interest in following, promoting and reporting on NGO activities,
  • increased citizens’ interest in participation in work of NGOs,
  • improved overall attitude of citizens, institutions and media towards NGOs,
  • increased possibilities and positive climate for cooperation between different stakeholders and NGOs as a direct result of increased NGO visibility in the local community,
  • attained higher level of visibility of NGO-s in Vukovar-sirmium county.
