The main goal of the project is:
encouraging young people aged between 15 and 29 to actively participate in the implementation of the National Youth Work Programme in the area of Osijek

The goal will be achieved through the following project activities:

  1. Designing and creating promotional materials which will contain information on the national and local youth work programmes and on the Youth Info Centre as an important part of those programmes;
  2. Training workshop for roughly 20 students from four secondary schools titled “What Can I Do About That?”
  3. Presentations of the programmes and the Youth Info Centre to be conducted by the PRONI Centre in cooperation with the Youth Committee of the City of Osijek and volunteers from the schools;
  4. The same presentations, only held by the students-trainees for all the other students from the four schools;
  5. Separate public activities/competitions to be conducted by the four schools;
  6. As a part of the European Week event, there will be a public presentation of the programmes, the YIC and the previous activities conducted in the schools.

Direct clients of this project are all students of the four secondary schools in the city of Osijek, and indirect clients will be other young people and the public through the presentations and the media promotion.
The lack of interest of young people often comes from the lack of information, and some of the reasons for that are the following: there is no one place where they can get all the necessary information (the search takes too long), no connection to the Internet, insufficient PC knowledge, no information search habit, etc. All this shows necessity for developing different ways of spreading information.
Therefore, the mentioned problems can be redefined as the need for quality information. We believe that the best and most efficient information transfer is direct transfer, because it simultaneously offers help and support (although it takes much more time and effort).
Through the project activities, more than thousand young people from Osijek will be provided with direct information and the possibility of actual help and support. We consider this project to be of great importance for our community since it results in the increase of informed/active young people as well as the increase of general quality of life in Osijek.
